Rainbow Craft Mobile

Hi everyone!

I know we don’t usually think of July as a “rainbow” month, but with all the crazy rain people have had around the country I thought it would make a fun summer project!

This is a paper ranbow mobile craft. You will need the following colored construction paper circles, either precut for little ones, or traced preschool/kindergarteners, or for older school aged kids, ready to measure, trace and cut out:

9 inch red circle

8 inch orange circle

7 inch yellow circle

6 inch green circle

5 inch blue circle

4 inch purple circle

If you don’t have an easy way to measure these, just find graduated sizes of circular household objects to trace such as butter tub lids, bowls, cups, etc. As long as they get smaller as you go down the colors, it works!

Have the child start with the orange circle on the table, and then glue the successively smaller circles on top, one by one.

Let the whole thing dry, and then cut the whole thing in half down the center. Place a string or yarn loop in the middle and glue the 2 halves back to back. Hang them up to admire!

Since the kids don’t glue them exactly in the center, they turn out really neat, each one with its own personality!

Have fun!
